About the Project

In July 2020, Angel City Football Club (ACFC) launched as a US-based National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) member and announced that they would be taking the field in April 2022.

ACFC Partnered with Umbrella Digital to help with

  • Generate brand awareness in the LADMA
  • Refine & broadcast their core identity through storytelling
  • Drive engagement with targeted audiences in the LA metro area
  • Understand return on ad spend (ROAS) and performance evaluation across tactics
  • Understand messaging & platform-centric KPIs related to media engagement

Umbrella’s ability to strategize and measure success using platform-specific expertise coupled with advanced ad-tech capabilities ensured that the ACFC stakeholders understood what was happening, where it was happening, and the associated costs for the duration of the program.

Outcomes

Given the varied nature of KPI’s and the channel mix – Umbrella needed to quickly understand what channels and messages align with the clients goals without guesswork or requiring a small army of creative to be built.

Using data generated from the campaign with our internal data technologies, we were able to know what messages and channels were most effective at reaching the varied audiences ACFC wanted to engage during their campaign.
